Breaker/Control Compartment
The breaker compartments will consist of up to four breakers in any order with any ampere rating but not to exceed 5,000 amps. The control compartment is where potential transformers, fuse blocks, terminal and shorting blocks, and auxiliary relays are mounted.

The vertical sections can hold up to four individual breaker or control compartments which are isolated from the bus compartment.

Bus Compartment
This compartment contains a copper or aluminum bus bar. This is where the main, vertical, line and load buses are located. The main bus is fully rated throughout and is not tapered.

The bus joints are bolted and torqued for maximum integrity, with connections of either either silver or tin plate. As an option, the bus can be sleeved with PVC, epoxy or heat shrink tubing for insulation. Myers specializes in custom bus work inside the bus compartment.

The bus and cable compartments are in an open area, but a rear barrier can be provided to isolate the bus compartment from the cable compartment.

Cable Compartment
This is where the cable enters or exits the switchgear from either the top or the bottom. The incoming cable connects to the line side of the main device or to the bus bar that is connected to the line side of the main device. A ground bus is located in the bottom of this compartment and runs though the full length of the switchgear.
